Hello there, and welcome to the contract information thread! Read on if you're new to all of this, however, if you know the ropes, and have been here for a couple of seasons, you should know what to do.
So, contract expiration, what does that mean? It's the point in the VFL season where contracts of players tick down from GREEN to RED, thus potentially allowing players to have a say on whether they wish to stay at their current club for another season or not. Sounding complicated? Don't worry. Here's some info:
Due to the app, it's a little different in explaining it, it's a lot more simple.....
If you SIGNED for your club BEFORE the mid-season window you are on a RED contract, which means that you WILL drop into free agency unless you sign a contract extension.
If you SIGNED for your club DURING the mid-season window, or after the mid-season window, that means that your contract is GREEN. It means that you are contracted to your club until the END OF NEXT SEASON.
If you WON A LEAGUE TITLE or GAINED PROMOTION, that means that EVERYONE on your roster will have a BLUE contract. This means that everyone on your roster has had their contract automatically extended until the end of Season 33. If you have blue contracted players, you may only release or sell 60% of them in the upcoming season (Example - 20 blue contracted players, only 12 can leave the club next season)
So, managers, what do you have to do if you want to re-sign your top talent red-contract players?
1 - Talk to the players - Identify whether they want to re-sign a contract, or leave.
2 - If they want to leave - There's not much you can really do.... It's pretty much a mission to convince them to re-sign before the date below.
3 - If they want to stay - You can re-sign them to a contract using the steps below:
3a - Put a thread up in your lounge called "VFL (Insert Team Name here) Contract Re-signs"
3b - List the player's GT or PSN along with a contract length (e.g. l 10 l Gringo l - 3 Season Contract) - Keep in mind about contract amounts lower down
3c - Get the player to confirm his contract in that thread. I will only be doing contract renewals for BPL, if people from Italy or Germany message me, you will be ignored.
*IMPORTANT NOTE* - Player contracts WILL NOT be extended without confirmation from the player.
